Gwendoline Van Ossel is a member of the Brussels Bar since 2001 and passed the CAPA at the Paris Bar in 2006. She is currently member of the Geneva's Bar (Section of Lawyers from foreign Bars), and provides counselling in Swiss, French and Belgian law from Geneva, where she is established.


Gwendoline studied law in Belgium (graduated in 2000), and in 2006 she completed her Master’s degree in Intellectual Property Law at the Université Panthéon-Assas Paris II. She also passed the Paris Bar Exam in 2006. She further completed her international education by attending the June 2013 Summer School on Intellectual Property organised jointly by the Université de Genève and the World Intellectual Property Law Organisation (WIPO) Academy. She joined the Geneva's Bar (section of the lawyers from foreign Bars) in 2014.

Gwendoline worked in Paris at the Institut de Recherche en Propriété intellectuelle (IRPI) and in Brussels as a senior Attorney in the Media & IP department at KOAN law firm. She worked closely with the members of the IP department. She was responsible for the management of the files and cases and was in direct contact with the clients. Gwendoline has acquired a strong expertise in legal issues pertaining to copyright and trademark law.

 

Today, Gwendoline Van Ossel is a sole practitioner based in Geneva, Switzerland. She is working for Belgian, French and Swiss clients with regards to Belgian, French and Swiss law.

She provides legal counsel in Intellectual Property law according to the needs and requirements of every client and every creative project. She builds a flexible and trustworthy relationship with her clients and she works with specific and reasonable deadlines.

She speaks French, English and Dutch. She is a member of : 

  • the Association Belge pour le droit d’Auteur (ABA-BVA),
  • the Groupe Suisse de l'Association littéraire et artistique internationale (ALAI),
  • the Association Nationale Belge pour la Protection de la Propriété Industrielle (AIPPI-ANBPPI)

  • the International Trademark Association (INTA) and of
  • Centre du droit de l’art de l’université de Genève

Gwendoline Van Ossel is an attorney-at-law, member of the Brussels Bar and of the Geneva's Bar. She has the ethical duty of confidentiality and absence of conflict of interest.
